Over 95 artists will participate in the Eight Annual Newburgh Open Studios.
Newburgh Open Studios 2018 will be the 8th annual studio tour taking place on Saturday and Sunday, September 29th and 30th, 2018 from Noon - 6pm each day.
It is a Free self-guided tour. Maps will be available at Newburgh Art Supply, 5 Grand Street, Saturday and Sunday September 29th and 30th starting at 10am.
Newburgh Art Supply will be the central location for tour information and extra studio tour maps.
Organized by Gerardo Castro and Michael Gabor, co-owners of Newburgh Art Supply, this year’s Newburgh Open Studios has over 95 participating artists!
This tour will introduce visitors to Newburgh’s burgeoning arts community with the opening of artists’ work studios, alternative gallery spaces, sculpture installations and pop-up shows.
Some studios will have demonstrations and performances.
Newburgh Open Studios features a diverse selection of styles and artistic disciplines, from avant-garde video and sculpture to bookbinding, performance art, and traditional oil painting.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet and talk with emerging and established artists and craftspeople in spaces rarely open to the public.
Much of the self-guided tour is ‘walkable’ and includes Atlas, Decora, Lodger, Newburgh Community Photo Project, Holland Tunnel Art Newburgh, The Foundry, The Newburgh Pottery, Blacc Vanilla, Ann Street Studios, Thornwillow, Regal Bag Studios, Raghaus Studios, The Carriage House, Grit Works, The Wherehouse, Safe Harbors Green, The Newburgh Community Land Bank and Panja, as well as live/work studios in the Historic District.
The 5th Annual GlenLily Grounds 2018, organized by Lacey Fekishazy, will also take place as part of Newburgh Open Studios: 29 artists participate in an exhibition of outdoor site-specific art and sculpture will be spread out on the 11 acre GlenLily estate, located at 532 Grand Avenue, Balmville.
